Roofing![]() All too often, roof problems are discovered after leaking or other serious damage occurs. Periodic (twice-a-year) inspections can often uncover if there is any degradation to your roof that could lead to further problems. The condition and lifespan of your roof will depend on the type of roof you have, the effects of your local environment and the maintenance which the roof has received. Re-RoofingYou have two basic options. 1. Complete replacement of the roof system, involving removal of the old roof. 2. Re-cover over the existing roof, involving only the installation of a new sheet of roofing material and surfacing. If you’ve already had one re-cover over your original roof, call one of our professional roofing contractors to see if your deck can support a second recover. Re-covering a roof can affect warranties and you need to talk to one of our roofing specialists before you proceed to see if this will affect your warranty. Roof LeaksA leaking roof does not necessarily mean you need to fix your entire roof. Leaking can result because a section of the roof has been damaged or some material has come loose that is used to waterproof an intersection or projection in a roof. A roof failure, however, is generally irreversible and results from improper installation or choice of materials, or from the installation of a roof system inappropriate to the building. Hail DamageTo determine if the shingles have been damaged a close inspection of the shingles has to be made from the roof. Usually you cannot tell from the ground. If you suspect your roof may have hail damage call Over the Top Roofing and Construction and ask one of our representatives to come inspect your roof. Call us to discuss your roofing needs. |
